IQOS VEEV mini vape review

IQOS decided to open another device segment – ​​sub-systems. They became an independent class of devices and were able to combine the main achievements of classic vapes and e-cigarettes.

The main feature of the new IQOS VEEV is the use of a mesh as a heating element, rather than a spiral. The mesh is completely immersed in the liquid in the hearth. With this technology, the area of ​​contact with the liquid for evaporation is larger, which gives a richer yet smoother taste, as well as a little more steam. IQOS VEEV is comparable in size to other sub-systems.

At the same time, it combines two popular shapes – round and rectangular. The result was a body with strongly rounded ends. The weight is small, but noticeable. So, the device is not so weightless that it could be accidentally dropped from your hands. Tactile, the coating is pleasant, and the ergonomics are comfortable.

The body is simple and clean. IQOS logo on one wide edge and technical information on the other. There are few other elements on the case: the power button and the LED strip next to it on a narrow edge. At the bottom there is a Type-C port for charging. This light bulb has four LEDs, each of which is responsible for a quarter of the battery capacity.

The cartridge is a continuation of the body in terms of shape and design. The cartridges themselves are always the same color – black. The color of the mouthpiece matches the taste of the liquid. For example, a mint cartridge has a blue mouthpiece, while a fruit cartridge has a pink mouthpiece. The cartridge has windows on both sides to control the amount of liquid remaining. The cartridge volume is 1.5 ml, which is approximately enough for 400 puffs. The nicotine concentration is 3.5%. When the liquid in the cartridge runs out, the LEDs will blink for a few seconds.

The body of the VEEV device is made of aluminum, while the cartridge shell is made of plastic. For a cartridge, this is a decidedly good solution in winter. But the metal of the case will still freeze in the cold. There are five color options for the case – blue, like ours, as well as aquamarine, graphite, gold and copper. All paint options have a matte finish that resists scuff marks or fingerprints. Initially, out of the box, IQOS VEEV does not have an installed cartridge. You need to buy it, unpack it, remove the rubber band that insulates the contacts and insert either side into the case.

We have already noted that there is only one button on the case – to turn on the device. There is no need to start the usage process itself. Sensors built into the cartridge automatically activate heating when traction appears. At the same time, IQOS VEEV vibrates funny during the puffing process. IQOS VEEV vibration can be turned off by pressing a button once during a puff or via the mobile app. You can also select a different vibration rhythm.

Cartridges are disposable and cannot be refilled or disassembled. But you can change it at any time, for example, to change the taste and not bother with individual liquid bubbles. The device charges completely in half an hour – quite quickly. The included cable has Type-C interfaces on both sides. The charging power supply with the same symmetrical Type-C has a power of 10 W and will allow you to quickly charge the sub-system.

IQOS VEEV has also found its place in the IQOS mobile application for Android. When connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, you can access some advanced settings and information. The application will allow you to adjust the amount of steam, turn vibration on and off during puffs, its rhythm, adjust the brightness of the LEDs, and update the firmware. There is also a device search function if IQOS VEEV is lost in your pockets or bag. A separate tab collects device usage statistics, visualized in the form of a graph.

Sub-systems and IQOS VEEV, in particular, use so-called salt nicotine. Without going into “chemical” details, the liquid with it has a higher concentration of nicotine per milligram and flavor richness. There are different flavors of liquids, the ones we came across turned out to be moderately rich and pleasant, but not cloying. In this case, nicotine saturation, as in other cases with salt nicotine, occurs quite quickly.

The cartridges are produced under the same name “VEEV” and are available in six variants, five of which are already on sale. They offer tobacco flavored pods, two mint flavors, and three fruit and berry flavors.
