Viber study: 20% of users prefer messages to calls. 80% of respondents are annoyed by calls from companies

Rakuten Viber conducted a study of the attitude of Ukrainians towards incoming calls. According to the results, 57% of users are not against communicating by phone, while 22% are okay with calls if there has been a preliminary agreement. At the same time, every 5th respondent gives preference to messages.
Text correspondence is most often considered more convenient when communicating with colleagues or clients – 57% of respondents supported messages in work communication. In communication with stores, couriers, etc. — 70% for calls; and in other possible urgent cases – 78% for calls.
80% of respondents are annoyed by calls from companies with promotions and offers to order a service. 20% noted that they treat such challenges well, in case businesses offer something truly useful.
Overall, 45% of Ukrainians are neutral towards calls from unknown numbers, while 55% of Ukrainians are annoyed by such calls. Among the reasons for this reaction, 68% of Ukrainians noted that calls from unfamiliar contacts do not bring anything useful, but only take up time. Another18% responded that they themselves or their relatives suffered from such calls.
94% of respondents answered positively: 72% – definitely yes, 19% – in individual cases and 3% – if the company calls.
40% of Ukrainians check unknown numbers: 16% search on the Internet, 13% using specialized programs, 11% in Rakuten Viber. Overall 53% of Ukrainians have blocked unknown contacts over the past 3 months
