Renault R5 E-Tech

The new Renault R5 E-Tech electric city car focuses on a competitive price and technology offerings, including a digital voice assistant. This car is a new version of the classic coupe from the 1970s and is capable of driving up to 400 km on a single charge. TheRenault R5 E-Tech will compete with the electric Citroën ë-C3, produced by rival Stellantis NV, which costs €23,300.

The car is a key step in Renault’s ongoing turnaround under CEO Luca de Meo, which includes cutting ties with partner Nissan Motor Co. and moves to the production of electric vehicles, abandoning models with internal combustion engines.

The batteries are assembled and produced in France. 85% of the materials for the Renault R5 E-Tech will be made from recycled materialsand its batteries will be repairable. The car is also equipped with a bi-directional charger to feed power back into the grid, which is an added benefit.
