Sony’s Astro Bot nominated as game of the year at The Game Awards 2024

The Game Awards 2024, held in Los Angeles, summed up the year in the gaming industry and presented new projects. The main award – “Game of the Year” – went to the platformer Astro Bot, developed for Sony PlayStation 5.

Astro Bot received high marks from critics for its bright design, exciting gameplay and charm of the main character. Although the game looks like entertainment for children, it is praised for its versatility and high-quality development, which attracted a wide audience.

However, the jury’s choice differed from the opinion of the players: the Chinese action game Black Myth: Wukong won the popular vote. This project, inspired by Chinese mythology, became one of the main sensations of the year, surprising with its spectacularity and innovative approach to the combat system.

Despite some controversial jury decisions, the ceremony confirmed The Game Awards’ status as one of the main events in the world of video games.
