Shmavik – an analogue of the DJI Mavic drone was developed in Ukraine
18.04.24
One of the Ukrainian companies has launched into mass production an analogue of the Chinese DJI Mavic quadcopter, popular among the military for a number of tasks. It is known that the creation of such drones took a year. In February 2024, the drone was tested in conditions of active radio interference. The company has already produced more than 300 drones.
By the first of June, the company plans to launch the first production line with a volume of 500 pieces per month. The plan by the end of summer is to reach production of 2,500 Shmaviks per month.
The price of the “shmavik” kit is similar to the Chinese one – about $3500. However, the main thing is thatUkrainian drones are already prepared for work in military conditions out of the box.
The kit includes:
- case with drone;
- smart remote control with 10-inch screen;
- five batteries;
- four spare propellers;
- charging station;
- cables;
- repair tools.
By the way, the name was not invented just like that. Since the beginning of the war with Russia, that is, since 2014, all light reconnaissance drones have been called “Shmaviks” at the front, regardless of their manufacturer.
The company has been mass-producing drones for various purposes since 2017. In particular, bomber copters. Information about her is not disclosed.
