Micron introduced the most compact UFS 4.0 memory chip for smartphones with a capacity of 1 TB

American memory chip manufacturer Micron presented its new development at the MWC 2024 exhibition in Barcelona – UFS 4.0 memory.
The company claims that this is the most compact chip for mobile devices on the market, measuring 9×13 mm. This design allows smartphone manufacturers to use more space in devices for batteries.
The new product offers capacities from 256 GB to 1 TB and has a sequential read speed of 4300 MB/s and sequential write speed of 4000 MB/s. The chip is based on 232-layer 3D NAND technology. The development of the new product took place in the company’s laboratories in the USA, China and South Korea.
