Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 continue to maintain their popularity as Rockstar Games’ most successful projects. Even though these games have been out for quite some time, they continue to be the best-selling titles for both the studio itself and its owner, Take-Two Interactive, last quarter.
According to Take-Two’s latest financial report, as of December 31, 2023, Grand Theft Auto V has sold 195 million copies worldwide, up 5 million from the previous quarter . Total sales of the GTA series to date are 420 million copies. Also, interest in the game is supported by the online version. It may not be the crown of Rockstar’s plot masterpieces, but so far they maintain a significant online presence that does not allow the project to be closed.
AlsoRed Dead Redemption 2 shows good results: as of December 31, it sold 61 million copies worldwide, which is 6 million morethan at the end of the previous quarter. Overall, sales of the Red Dead Redemption franchise rose to 86 million copies from 81 million.
Currently, Rockstar Games is actively working on the development of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is expected to be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2025.
