According to recent Gartner research, IT investment in 2024 will increase by 8% compared to 2023 and amount to $5.06 trillion. The data relates generally to the IT industry as a whole, taking into account both general user trends and business trends.

The consulting company noted that “classic” enterprises are still far behind IT companies in terms of spending.

Thanks to the development of generative artificial intelligence, costs for data centers will increase significantly – from 4% in 2023 to 10% in 2024. In total, AI will account for about 60% of total server spending in 2024.

Costs for various devices will also increase. This is because the average lifespan of mobile phones is constantly decreasing. Accordingly, consumers are increasingly buying them.
