The development of sixth-generation (6G) communications is still in its early stages, and despite trials, the standard is not expected to become mainstream until 2030, according to Samsung and China Mobile.

In particular, Samsung is conducting 6G trials, but does not predict its commercialization in the near future. Similarly, China Mobile launched a low-orbit test satellite that uses 6G communications. Designed by a Chinese development team, this satellite supports various stand-alone features specifically designed to support 6G. It uses both software and hardware developed in China to ensure efficient and reliable operation of the satellite network in orbit.

Although there is no official name for the 6G satellite, it is the world’s first low-orbit test satellite to use 6G communications, and its development indicates China’s desire to become a leader in the development of the technology.
