Oppo has released a new flagship smartphone. The Reno14 model looks good against the background of competitors and is also quite good in performance. The main changes compared to the more affordable Reno14 F concern the body materials, hardware platform and camera module capabilities.

Despite the fact that Oppo Reno14 has no special design solutions, except for the pattern on the back panel, the model looks modern and expensive. Straight lines, perpendicular ends with smoothed corners of the edges – everything is classic and solid.

The metal frame and glass back panel emphasize the top-end of the model. There is a pattern on the back panel that plays with shades in different lighting.
There are two colors to choose from: iridescent mother-of-pearl and dark green. The glass of the back panel and screen is resistant to fingerprints. The device fits comfortably in the hand.

The camera block is compact and does not protrude much beyond the case, although without a case the device wobbles slightly when placed on a table.

At the top end are microphones, a speaker and an IR port, at the bottom – Type-C, a speaker, a microphone and a slot for SIM cards. All controls are on the right side. A special feature of the model is the presence of IP69 and an underwater mode, in which the screen is locked, and control is carried out through the mechanical buttons of the case.
Hardware
Oppo Reno14 received a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The diagonal is comfortable enough to operate with one hand. The pixel density is 460 ppi. The screen brightness is up to 1200 nits, which is enough to watch photos, videos and read text outdoors. There is an Always-On Display screensaver mode with various information. The screen has a built-in fingerprint scanner.

The MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor combines eight cores with a clock frequency of 1×3.35 + 3×3.2 + 4×2.2 GHz, paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a built-in 512 GB UFS 3.2 drive. Reno14 demonstrates smooth opening of applications, stable operation of the interface and gaming performance. We cannot find fault with bugs and artifacts in the operation of the interface. Although there are a lot of applications automatically installed from the start.
The smartphone runs on Android 15 with the ColorOS shell. It is stated that it will receive updates for five years. You can install two nanoSIM or use eSIM in the smartphone.
Communication is implemented via 5G, Wi-Fi 6e, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, Type-C 2.0. There is an IR port for controlling household appliances. Among the sensors there is an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and light sensors.
Cameras

The main camera of the Reno14 is represented by three sensors: 50 MP wide-angle, 50 MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. The front camera is 50 MP with autofocus. The cameras support 4K 60 fps video recording. Photos are excellent in sufficient lighting. The algorithms do a good job of extracting poorly lit scenes. Selfies are excellent. This is a trendy feature for shooting vlogs with HDR support and background blur.

Shooting quality is one of the key advantages of the Reno14. The ubiquitous artificial intelligence helps select filters, remove unnecessary objects and increase sharpness. The phone correctly processes night scenes and offers shooting modes with 0.6x, 1x, 3.5x and 7x zoom.
The 8 MP wide-angle sensor works well in daylight, of course, the detail drops, but this is normal for panoramic shots.
Battery
The 6000 mAh battery supports 80 W fast charging, which allows you to charge the device up to 44% in 15 minutes and fully in about 40 minutes. The kit includes an 80 W adapter and a transparent case. The PC Mark test showed a battery life of 16 hours. A very good indicator, so with normal use, without distributing the Internet and navigation, you can forget about charging for a day.

Why Oppo mention iPhone?
Oppo is actively promoting the concept of “Additional smartphone to the iPhone”, trying to make the Reno14 resemble the iPhone 16 in tactile sensations. We would say that now it is not worth equaling the Cupertino people in terms of the quality of materials. Many brands offer very pleasant tactile and external models. An important innovation was the “Share with iPhone” option, which allows you to exchange files between iOS and Android using the proprietary O+ application. This solution partially removes the problem of platform incompatibility, although it requires installing the application on the iPhone.
Impressions
Oppo Reno 14 is made in a premium style: a metal frame and a glass back cover give the device solidity and a pleasant feeling in the hand. Girls will like the drawings, and the black color of the case without frills will be convenient for guys. The performance of the smartphone is at a high level. The cameras are quite good – they provide high-quality pictures both during the day and at night, and the built-in artificial intelligence algorithms help with shooting and subsequent processing. In addition, the device supports eSIM and works with modern Wi-Fi 6e. This is a really good model with everything you need and excellent autonomy.
